Opening Notes

I really do love the creative process that I undertake whenever I write a book, particularly a historical novel. Am I a hapless romantic during this process? Absolutely. Do I fall in love with the writing process? Blindly! Does conducting the research for my books ever bore me? Absolutely not. In fact, that is where a great deal of the fun is, particularly since I always travel to the sites where my stories take place so that I can create a real intimate relationship of these locations for the reader. There are some very special places in which I write portions of my books. Perhaps no place is more romantic than the Pelican Inn located in the enchanting woods of Muir Woods, a stones-throw from the Pacific Ocean. Still ... and I do love writing in the Map Room of the New York Central Library ... but Butler Library at Columbia always thrills me ... yet the views of the Pacific Ocean from Paradise Cove Beach in Malibu really can't be beat...still, there are times when filling the pages of a legal pad in long hand with a pencil at the student union (also known as a beer hall)on the shores of Lake Mendota at the University of Wisconsin at Madison are simply brilliant... though writing inside the magical Richard Reardon Central Library in beautiful L.A. is always an extraordinary experience.

What you may not know is that writing really did save my life. I'm not kidding. If you want to learn more about how this happened, I invite you to read the webpage that shares my personal reflections of each of my books. This all said, I am pleased to say that each of my geopolitical thrillers, which have been written over the course of several years, has become a best-selling book in accordance to the most important industry ratings - the various wholesaler best-seller lists, through which every book publisher in the world places their products to reach retail stores and library markets. I am very proud of this accomplishment; however, in all the success I have achieved thus far, I have never lost sight that what really matters to me is that the messages I have penned are legacies to my son.

I have created a fairly diverse portfolio of work identifying my interests, my passions, and well, it provides a window into my own life. May you find great pleasure in their reading..

Chasing The Cyclone

Chasing The Cyclone was both the hardest and easiest book for me to write. It is a story of international parental child abduction and a father's unending desire to find, protect, and unite with his kidnapped son. I mention that it was the 'hardest' story because the story is drawn from my experiences as a Chasing Parent who was forced to race to the other side of the world in search of my own child. And surely it was the easiest story to write because, well, it is based upon my experiences and familiarity of having to attempt to find and bring home my son. Which I did. Safely. This a first-hand account of the growing epidemic that is international parental child abduction, and the extreme difficulties all parents whose child has been abducted must face in order to protect the welfare of their victimized child or children. This story makes clear what needs to be done both here in The United States and throughout the world in order to protect children from being abducted and taken across international borders. < > More

The Den of the Assassin

In the Den of the Assassin my writing skills began to transform, to sharpen, and to flow differently than in the other two books. The Den of the Assassin is a story of international finance and terrorism. I believe it is one of the best written, accurate, and current post 911 espionage thrillers written. And if you are a New Yorker or love New York, you will then quickly realize just how much I love my hometown too! The paperback version of The Den of the Assassin will be released February 1st, 2011.

The World Turned Upside Down

The World Turned Upside Down was created as a FREE resource guide for parents at risk of having their child criminally abducted and taken abroad. The book is created in an open-tablet E-book format so that all individuals everywhere may have access to the highly informative and groundbreaking information on this subject that was created due to the extensive research my co-author Carolyn Vlk and I put forth. The World Turned Upside Down is one of the many examples of my heart-felt advocacy and efforts to protect children from the world of abduction. Combining the publication of the extensive The World Turned Upside Down is the release of the landmark educational documentary film on international child abduction titled Chasing Parents: Racing Into The Storms Of IPCA. This film is presently comprised of 10 segments running nearly 4 hours and contains critcial information on IPCA that anyone effected or interested in this subject will benefit from viewing. Additional segments are intended to be added in the near future and on an ongoing basis.

Cloning Christ

Cloning Christ was conceptualized during the time I spent in New York's 'Ground Zero' during 911. During one particular night, I lost my faith in God and did not understand how HE could and would allow for such a disaster to occur. While spending the evening inside a church, essentially speaking my anger-filled mind at God, I soon realized that HE did not abandon us. And so, at sometime in the middle of the night and into the early part of the morning, I wrote a very detailed outline and synopsis of 'Cloning Christ'. And for those of you who may want to know where the title originates from - well it was inside Trinity Church - that sits high on Wall Street, where this all took place.

War on Wall Street

War On Wall Street was written during the time my son was getting ready to enter the world. At that time, I had come down with a serious form of cancer, and I did not know if I was going to survive. So, regardless of the material objects I would have been able to leave my son, if I passed, he would only know me through pictures. So I wrote this story for him. And in it, unquestionably, I do speak to Tyler.

After extensive research in the fields of financial and biological terrorism, 'War On Wall Street' illustrates that even under the most stressful hardships the human spirit has the ability to grow and flourish.

In Their Own Words (Special Edition)

I wrote In Their Own Words due to the tragedy of 9-11 and the miracles that occurred thereafter. A very significant reason why I became involved with the writing of this project was because my brother John is, as he was on 9-11 a New York City Fire Fighter who I admire, respect, and love very much. Most of all, I wrote this historical book in honor of the men and women who lost their lives due to the cowardly acts of hatred by those who lost their faith in God and in mankind. And of course, I wrote In Their Own Words in honor of all the first responders who acted that day, including those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and those who were willing to.
